1959 Steelers 1-4-1 After First Game Win

After the opening game win over Cleveland, the Steelers faded to 1-4-1 over the next six weeks. Three of the four losses were close.

In the first quarter, Charlie Connerly threw two touchdown passes to Frank Gifford of 77 and 28 yards. The Steelers spent the rest of the game catching up. Ruining the comeback, Sam Huff returned a Steeler fumble 26 yards for a touchdown. In the final two minutes of the game, the Giant Defense, from their two yard line held the Steelers on downs. I was all set to win the game from New York 23 to 21. The Steelers turned the ball over six times in the loss at Chicago. The Giants finished at 10-2 while the Cardinals were 2-10.
