I'm not sure how the N.F.L. decides these things but in this year's case all the A.F.C. playoff games in the first round will take place before any of the N.F.C. playoff games will.

Sunday, January 14th

No they definitely wouldn't do that. The winner of that game will get a Sunday game the following week.
