Willard Reaves?

Post by 74_75_78_79_ »

Multiple CFL All-Star in the ’80s. Big part in ’84 Blue Bombers Grey Cup campaign. Had a bit of action with both Dolphins & Redskins in ’89. Any more that be said about his career as well as further NFL potential?

Of course we all know what his son, Ryan, has been currently up to!

I remember Reaves, but just didn't put two and two together. Willard was 30 by the time he tried the NFL, so he may have missed his window for a successful pro career in the states.

It looks like Willard was in the NFL for only one season, splitting time between the 'Phins and D.C.
He played in only 3 games in that year, 1989.

Willard was a tremendous back for the Blue Bombers gaining just under 6,000 yards in 62 games from 1983-87 and winning the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player award in 1984. He probably made a mistake when he left for a kick at the can in the NFL. He came back to Winnipeg, joined the police force and never left.
