I think Charles White is a unique one-hit wonder when he led the NFL in rushing in 1987, due to his age. He was a star at USC, high pick by the Browns, had some issues, was backup on the Rams for a few years, then had his big 1987 season when Dickerson was traded to Indy. White lost his starting job to Greg Bell in 1988 and was then out of the league for good.

The Rams had a very good O-line from the George Allen 'era' through the John Robinson 'era'. Their RBs always did well, regardless of who they were. I don't know if was John Robinson's USC scheme that was effective, or if the talent in the OL was so good (especially run blocking) that they could always get yards. Slater made the HOF, but guys like Kent Hill, Tom Newberry, Doug Smith and Dennis Harrah were great players, too. Eric Dickerson was pretty incredible (in spite of his fumbling penchant), but it seemed like any decent RB could put up big numbers behind that OL.

Paul Robinson, the only 1,000 yard rusher ever for an expansion team (the 1968 Bengals). AFL rookie of the year. His career took a nosedive after that year.

Elvis Peacock was having a terrific season for the 1980 Rams when an injury in week 13 ended his campaign. The next year, Peacock failed to make the Rams' roster in preseason. After a brief cup of coffee with Cincinnati, he was out of the NFL.

Bucky Pope incredible 31.4 yards per reception as a rookie for the Los Angeles Rams in 1964. Pope had 25 receptions for 786 yards and 10 touchdowns. Pope caught just nine more passes the rest of his career.

Barry Foster. Still holds the Steelers single season rushing record with 1690 yards in 1992. His 1993 season was cut short due to injury. He split carries with rookie Bam Morris in 1994. The Panthers pick him up in 95 only to cut him in training camp. He signs with the Bengals then retires.

Pope's 10 (League Leading) TDs were from distances of: 65, 70, 48, 68, 18, 55, 12, 14, 21 & 95 yards!
