Nice find and thanks for sharing. Military leagues have always interested me, ever since my dad showed me the newspaper clip of him and his team winning the 3ID championship (then later Corps Championship) in Jr. High.

I will have further on this subject later (my computer is going nuts at the moment).

For now, I will send these pair of items on the "Mosquito Bowl" on Guadalacanal in 1945. I came across an article, a reminiscence of this game. I can't find it, but probably found a better reference.

For years, vets mostly would recall these type events, trying to avoid talk of the war itself.
