Offensive Tackle Marvin Powell played 11 seasons, including nine with the New York Jets (1977-1985) and two with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1986-1987). Five times he earned a spot in the Pro Bowl and was named all-pro three times. During his time with the Jets, Powell spent most of his time blocking for quarterback Richard Todd (48-59-1) and for running back Freeman McNeil. Pro Football Reference assigns Powell an "approximate value" rating of 53 for Powell's four best seasons with the Jets, a value during that span that is higher than Pat Donovan, Mike Kenn (in the HOVG), and Anthony Munoz (in the HOF).
