Introducing myself

Post by racepug »

Greetings! I joined the PFRA just a few days ago. I live somewhere west of the Atlantic Ocean, north of México, east of the Pacific Ocean, and south of Canada and I am a bit of a(n American) football junkie. I love hearing/reading tales of past eras (and of players who, for me, are "new discoveries" - players like Otto Schnellbacher, Miller Farr, Sherrill Headrick, and E.J. Holub, to name just a few) and I very much look forward to interacting with you all. Maybe someday I'll even get the chance to meet some of you in person. That would be great!

Welcome aboard. It's kind of interesting that you narrowed your location down to include most of the North American land mass. Don't worry, they'll find ya when it's time to pay the 35 bucks for next year's dues. Meanwhile, enjoy the benefits of membership (which, sad to say, do not yet include a complimentary Ace Gutowsky fridge magnet).

Yep, a bunch of wild and crazy guys around here. Every Halloween a bunch of dress up as the 1921 Akron Pros and go trick or treating. Last year I was Fritz Pollard.

Allow me to add an unofficial but enthusiastic "Welcome!"

I came here... almost 20 years ago and have learned so much about football history since then.
You couldn't find a better place, or a better group of guys, to learn about the history of our favorite sport!

One of my favorite features of the PFRA is the "Hall of (the) Very Good" where we enshrine players and contributors who the Pro Football Hall of Fame has bypassed.
As a member you will get to nominate and vote for those we enshrine.
Check it out at: http://www.profootballresearchers.org/h ... -good.html

Again, welcome!
