Instead, the Buccaneers snatched him up and he was part of three champions. I thought Blount would do well with the Lions but as usual, they wanted Stafford to throw the ball ...

Mike Bass, a cornerback, was drafted by the Packers in '67 and spent the '67 and '68 seasons on the Lions' tax squad before playing one game as a Lion at the end of the '68 season. Signed by the Redskins for '69, he started for seven seasons (later recognized by the team as one of the "80 Greatest Redskins").

John Henry Johnson & Frankie Albert were teammates on the '53 Calgary Stampeders. Think maybe Albert made a call to alert the Niners?

Daryl Slade posts alot of historical photos & facts pertaining to the Calgary Stampeders on Twitter. Photos of Johnson & Albert are too big to upload but here's a link:

Delvin Williams played the last game of his career with the Packers in 1981.

Not many remember that Jim Hart spent his 19th and last season (1984) with the Redskins.

Mark Brunell was the holder for the Saints in their Super Bowl season in 2009. He later played two seasons for the Jets.
