Re: Browns Steelers fight

Quick question doesn't Rudolph have some blame? If he just got up none of this would have happened. Granted Garrett's reaction was way out of line but I find it humorous how Rudolph is coming of as a cherub. I think that all the suspensions were warranted but again if he doesn't try to play tough gu...

Re: 1981 Bears-Lions series

Some thing to consider the game time temp was 22 degrees with a 13 degree wind chill. Evans/Avellini were sacked 7 times for total loss of 61 yds. One Bears WR caught two passes Rickey Watts 2-24yds. No other WR or TE caught a pass. Lions first downs 20 Bears 4 Lions ran for 229 yds, 117 from Billy ...

Re: Dirtiest player in each franchise's history?

Late to post but one guy not mentioned or at least I didn't think was mentioned is Eagles S Brian Dawkins. I always thought he was a great safety. Looking back at games he played he would at least two or three times a game dive into a pile up or just finishing tackle head first. Spearing either the ...

Re: Least-favorite season, 1946-thru-1999?

Dallas/Oakland is one match-up that I would've expected to come up at least once between 1966 and 1985. And yet never did[/quote] It was a stipulation of the AFL/NFL merger agreement Raiders and Cowboys are never to meet in the Super Bowl. Schramm had it put in there. LOL...............Although it n...

Re: Really, Really Trivial...

Roman Gabriel's league leading 3,219 passing yards in 1973 would have translated to a 6,175 yard passing season in 2017. Umm maybe I'm being thick but could someone explain this one to me? It's not like the NFL stats work like inflation or they shortened the length of a yard. If you plop Roman into...

Falling Starr by Stanton Green

Okay since no one has complained about my reviews and I received quite a few wished for books for Christmas I have another review. When I received this book my first thought was uh oh what did I do. A quick flip through showed that the author included game by game stats and brief summaries for every...

Re: Where would you rank Belichick amongst all time great co

I have no doubt that Belichick one of the greatest if not the greatest head coach of all-time. Bar none. Landry, Noll, Shula, Lombardi etc.etc.etc would not have been able to go on a sustained run like he has. Although I guess you could say Landry had a prolonged run of good teams from 1965 to 1984 ...

Re: THe Packers from '92-'95

An interesting conversation could also be that if say the salary cap era didn't hit until say the early '2000's and Dallas and San Fran were able to keep their teams together throughout the '90's would the '96 Packers still been good enough to beat a (still loaded) Dallas and 49ers teams? Bingo you...
