Re: 2023 FInalists, released 1PM EDT 12/27/22

2/3 pre 60s semi finalists made the finals not bad. My favorites here were Otis Taylor and Jim Marshall but oh well at least they got a good look. if you had to guess what is keeping out otis taylor is it 1. AFL Bias 2. KC had a run oriented offense under stram 3. was blocked by duper morgan sharpe...

Re: Tarkenton/Fouts HOF?

I personally find the ballot talk silly as how difficult each ballot will be is random determined by when players retire. Yes the greatest players ever should get in 1st ballot regardless because they'll never be 5 more deserving candidates but otherwise it's up to chance. The voters also clearly ha...

Re: Matt Ryan

I think of the 04 trio, Stafford and Ryan, Ryan has the worst resume except Eli(who was probably more talented). Ryan also had Julio Jones(and those first few years had Roddy White)almost his whole career and his success can be tied to 1 skill player in a way the other 4 aren't. Ryan has more honors...

Re: 3 seniors per year from 2023-2025, 9 total

Here's my 9 by position just from the current semi finalist list. Picking 9 from the whole senior pool is a much harder exercise. QB Ken Anderson QB Isbell WR Otis Taylor WR Sterling Sharpe DE Jim Marshall ILB Maxie Baughan ILB Randy Gradishar S Eddie Meador CB Ken Riley I did find there aren't 9 ca...

Re: College realignment

It's a big deal but I don't think the sky is falling in college football. Honestly with more than 4 teams the best team in other confrences will still get a shot. Even undefeated non "power 5" teams would have gotten chances if the 4 team setup had been around in the more equal BCS era. Th...

Re: 1991 Lions and favorite overachievers

Per the best Lions teams part I think 2014 Lions could have went on a run in those wacky playoffs if they'd only gotten out of Dallas. People like to talk about how the Lions wasted Megatrons career but himself has said that team was pretty good and he only retired shortly after they "blew it u...

Re: HOF List for 25 Eligible Senior Semifinalists

No one's going to get exactly the 25 players they want but I think this is a fine list. I like that this allows us to see who is closest to the top of their process instead of just nominating someone and relying on rumors to figure out who came close like a papal election. I'm very happy Otis Taylor...

Re: Greatest Season of the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s

Of course this is subjective because different people enjoy different things. Here's the ones I'd pick. 60s Honestly those last 3 pre merger seasons all seem like they would have been a thrill to watch. I can't really pick one. Chargers are one of my teams so I'll just choose 63. 70s 72 The drama of...

Re: Tom Danyluk ranks 1980's SB champions

I agree with 84 Niners because they shut out 84 Bears in the NFC title game 23-0 and that group would go 18-1 the following year with much of the same team. They lost their 1 game by 3 points. The 89 Niners were 14-2 lost their 2 games by 5 points, dominant in the playoffs and of course had Jerry Ri...
