Re: Hope this doesn't sound like a rant ...
Mean Joe Greene says he couldn’t play in today’s NFL. https://www.forbes.com/sites/terencemoore/2018/10/25/joe-greene-says-hed-be-too-mean-for-modern-nfl/ I think if someone shows him Kalil Macks salary, he'd change his mind. ;) No, his point is that his style of play wouldn’t be allowed. He was ef...

Plus the 89 yard KO TD and an earlier KO return for 46 yards.conace21 wrote:Brian Mitchell in 2000. One run for 20 yards, another for an 85 yard TD. So much for being washed up.

Re: Looking for a QB
I only have 2 of 6 involving Buffalo teams, either the All-Americans or the Bisons. Not sure if these teams are considered the same franchise. 11/30/1922: Carl Thomas of the All-Americans intercepted Chet Wynne of Rochester 11/1/1925: Tex Hamer of Frankford intercepted Jim Kendrick of the Bisons Mi...

Re: 2 QBs drafted in 1st 3 Rounds by 1 Team???
I was thinking early 1960s since teams may want to play it safe because the other league was also holding a draft. The Lions in 1962 with Hadl in the first round and Eddie Wilson in the 2nd round The Jets in 1965 AFL draft was close Namath 1st round someone named Bob Schweickert in the 4th round. B...

Thanks. So how do you think he ended up with 37 for the game?BD Sullivan wrote:Willie Ellison partly blocked the punt and Alexander picked it up at the Ram 49, going 49 yards until he was caught at the Viking 2.

Kermit Alexander and how to apply lost yardage on fumbles
I was checking out a solid and somewhat overlooked DB Kermit Alexander of mainly 49er and Ram fame from 1963-1973. Retired with 43 interceptions. Made 1 Pro Bowl. He had some good seasons returning kickoffs and although his longest was around ~50 yards and didn't get a TD, he had a decent average. R...

Re: 1984 Redskins
To answer the OP, I'll just reiterate what Jay Z said in that losing Charlie Brown was a huge blow, and losing Joe Washington was also a blow. 84 Skins scored 100+ fewer points and Theismann's passer rating dropped 10+ points. Brown and Washington were big play guys...they each had over 1200 yards ...
