Re: Nolan, Singletary, Harbaugh & the early-'10s Niners

Singletary didn't "draft" anyone. The worst thing to happen to Niners franchise at that time was they surprised everyone by naming Singletary the interim coach (over Mike Martz, who was also on the staff at that time IIRC) and then the Niners miraculously won a few initial games under Sin...

James wrote:I think he is a Hall of Famer, but might not be a first ballot guy. To me, Calvin, Larry Fitzgerald, and Andre Johnson were/are the three best WR's of their era, nobody close, in my opinion.
You don't think Steve Smith is close?

Re: 49er Fans send angry letters to editor in 1980

If Montana was such a cinch, why did the Niners draft James Owens in Round 2? Why take the risk? Even an average NFL starting QB would be well worth taking at the beginning of Round 2. Yet the Niners waited until the end of Round 3 to draft the HOF lock Montana. They got lucky. Don't think anyone c...

Re: Pro Football Hall of Fame Radio Show

Wow thanks for this. I love podcasts in general, but NFL podcasts/radio shows are usually hit and miss...mostly missing. And there isn't a football history podcast show. I hope this is what I've been looking for.

Re: Modern Era Nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Cl

One has to wonder if Owens will be a first ballot selection. He put up great stats, but was by all accounts a clubhouse cancer also, and for all the positives he brought to his team, there were a number of negatives. I think there is little doubt that he will go in, but I don't know if he will go f...

Re: Modern Era Nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Cl

The best RB in that group is Terrell Davis. The best WR in that group is Sterling Sharpe. The best OL in that group is Tony Boselli. Mark Bavaro is the equal of any TE who has played, and IMO was better than two TEs already in (Sanders and Ditka). If we are giving out "lifetime/Dick LeBeau&quo...

Re: Possibility avatar options for this forum changed?

I've been searching for an avi all day and can't find anything small enough. If you have a program like photoshop or something you can do it, but ehhh...it will be really pixelated or you'd have to get a smaller image. I always think avatars and signatures help identify others on forums easier and ...

Possibility avatar options for this forum changed?

Sorry for posting this here, but there isn't a section yet as far as site operations go to make an inquiry. And I wasn't sure who to talk to. I was wondering since this is a new site and all, if the avatar preferences could be altered by the administrator or moderators. I know this isn't a democracy...
