Re: 1943 Lions v. Redskins footage (color)
....#21 was dick farman, who earned all-league recognition in his final campaign, though he played in only 6 games. am sure you saw how skilled he was in all facets of line play.

Re: 1943 Lions v. Redskins footage (color)
....baugh also punted(or quick kicked) 10 times for 519 yards. he probably set up the yard markers, sold hot dogs, and washed the uniforms. slingin' sam did everything for his 'skins. though the lions did not play very well in this game; they are much improved under the guidance of gus dorais after ...

Re: Best/Favorite teams with no HOF players
....a defensive co-ordinator that took talent(no hall of famers yet)to championship games with two different teams(bills & broncos); mr. joel collier. take a long hard look at what the bills accomplished on defense in the mid 60's to what the broncos accomplished late 70's. though randy gradisha...

Re: Six interceptions in a game (caught, not thrown)
....bobby dan should have had a 5th...near the sideline, and the official ruled him out of bounds? injured in the game, ending his season with nine interceptions. of all the interception "streaks"....dave baker in a three game stretch intercepted 9 passes.

Re: History of Scouting
....all teams that won had talent(we all know that); question is where did the talent come from? who knew what about the players selected, or allowed to come to camp? and then the right place at right time aspect. eddie kotal of the rams and some of his scouting stories were fascinating to read abou...

Re: Most versatile scorer?
....no doubt frank g's versatility early in his career was impressive. the interception touchdown came on lateral from landry against washington(not sure how many times two future hall of famers combined to score a td on a lateral int return?). though not a long career; joe geri in 50 & 51 ran, ...

Re: Decline of the 'Iron Man' Era
....both bill george (blanda injured in late '54), and les richter his first three years place kicked. so when both were chosen for the pro bowl as linebackers they could have utilized as a kicker if needed. richter played guard on offense more than once, and of course bill george started his career...

Re: Decline of the 'Iron Man' Era
....in the 60's there are players that went both ways, just not an entire game. some even started on both offense & defense during the season(usually due to injury). when dale messer gets injured in '61 for the niners(and they are in contention); hickey does not yet abandon the spread(shotgun).....
