No Ben Roethlisberger in either the 2000's or 2010's?
He very well may have made both if I went to 25. Just a slight notch below the top tier QBs for each decade. (IMO)

Barring some unforeseen off field meltdown, Roethlisberger should be a first ballot selection, just like the other QBs.

Re: 1980 'power' rankings

Being how so evenly matched all these playoff teams were, any number of Super Bowl matchups could have conceivably happened. Which one or ones would have been more intriguing than the one we actually got that year? I’ve said awhile back in a different thread that a Chargers/Cowboys matchup this yea...

Re: New Rules: Kickoffs

I suppose it's the best compromise between eliminating the kickoff entirely or sending insurance costs through the roof. The most noticeable change for the average fan is that you'll no longer see the kicking team racing down the field in unison as the ball is being booted. Different, but no big de...

Re: 1983-1994: Least terrible Buccaneers team?

I wonder if it was that very Fiesta Bowl, coupled with the previous year’s schlacking at the hands of Tennessee, that hurt his confidence as a pro. As great a coach Jimmy was, I think he overused him. Those two bowl games should have been bigger red flags to NFL scouts. However, it was stupid TB an...

Re: 1983-1994: Least terrible Buccaneers team?

In 1989, the Buccaneers started 3-2, including wins over the Packers, Saints, and Bears, and giving the mighty 49ers a battle. This start prompted Sports Illustrated to write a spotlight feature on the team, proclaiming that they were finally poised to shed their losing ways. It turned out to be ju...

Re: Guess what we have a new league with a CBS contract.

Now the NCAA has gotten in the kickoff subject. They just passed a new rule for next season where on kickoffs the receiving team can call for a fair catch and take possession at the 25 yard line. The NCAA says its to reduce kickoff returns which causes injury. This business about minimizing kickoff...

Father vs. Son(as NFL players)

The recent topic of teenagers in the NFL brings up the real possibility we may have a father playing against his son in the pros. It's a unique dynamic, because of the violent nature of the NFL, and much different from the times brothers have faced off against each other. Many NFL players father chi...

Re: Roy Jefferson questions

>Jefferson was a good player who wanted to do things his own way, and that type of player isn't conducive to championship winning football. Um, you type this without any sense of irony? Jefferson was wearing a Super Bowl ring one year later. And the Colts unloaded Jefferson to the Redskins after th...
