Re: Troy Polamalu retires

I say 2-3 years and he goes in. He also had two SB rings, and at his peak (which was short) truly was a game changer. I can think of about a half dozen games where Polomalu sealed a victory with a late interception or turned a late pick six to turn a loss into a win. At his peak he was arguably the...

Re: 1972 All-Rookie Team

Re: Senior Nominees for Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2

Isiah Robertson and Robert Brazile seem to have been forgotten, and even worse, Chuck Howley! Howley is THE very first guy I would put in the Hall if they allowed me, followed by Dilweg, Wistert, Stanfel and Johnny Robinson.

Re: Last HoF eligible years for some borderline worthies

Sterling Sharpe Arguably better than 8-9 of the last 10 receivers to go in. I'm definitely in favor of Sharpe for the Hall. He, Mac Speedie, and Del Shofner strike me as comparable, big peak but short career guys which HoF voters don't often elect. Sharpe (3/5/none) and Speedie (6/2/40s) played for...

Re: Chuck Bednarik

Wendell, I sent you an e-mail with a brief explanation concerning the insertion of a link. If it does not work for you, send a PM to Ken Crippen. I don't think anyone from the bored will try to help you. That has not been on their agenda - helping members, that is. Oh jeez, man you really need to g...

Re: best first five years at safety....

.....ken houston & mel renfro are in the hall of fame. they are not part of this discussion. best first five years and not in the hall of fame, and must be a safety. jake scott for some folks might rank ahead of volk....and he sure was a damn good player, as was his running mate dick anderson; ...

Re: best first five years at safety....

Ken Houston had a pretty darn good 'first five years' resume as well. So did Mel Renfro. I'd rank their first five years record above anyone 'cept maybe, Kenny Easley, who should be in the HOF.
