Re: Biggest "Name" player not in the HOF

Rocky Bleier. Everybody knew Rocky Bleier - and not just because he played for the Steelers.

Re: Dexter Bussey

Historically, IMHO, Billy Sims is one of the most underrated running backs I've seen. The Lions went from 2-14 to 9-7 almost solely on his back. He was Barry Sanders before Barry Sanders. Plus he was an excellent receiver out of the backfield. But, again, it's important to keep in context that Sims ...

Re: Internet Archive.or - the one with all the NFL media guides-hacked

Thanks for that info. Yesterday, I clicked on the bookmark I have saved and saw the site was down and didn't know what happened. It remains down today. Always a great resource for many things in addition to media guides. Books, newsreels, a lot of info on there and I hope they get that site running ...

Re: Sean McDermott

From what I've been able to gather from Oilers players and writers from the time, the Phillips firing had a lot to do with the unwillingness to hire an offensive coordinator. There may have been other reasons of course, but that is from what I've been told was something that was a major source of di...

Re: Chuck Foreman

Chuck Foreman has made this year's Seniors list. A campaign seems to help. Larry Brown also is on it this year. if you had to decide between foreman and brown who would you pick and why Foreman because it's excessively rare to score 15+ TDs multiple two seasons in a row even in this era. He did it ...

They also traded Dutton to the Cowboys in 1979.

Re: 2024 Obituaries

Sad to hear about Mercury. He came to our high school to speak one time. I snuck out of class and ran down to the office to meet him, wearing a Dolphins shirt. He showed me his Super Bowl ring. Pretty cool moment for a 15-year old that I'll never forget.

Re: Best performances by players on a losing team?

Aaron Rodgers with 423 yards passing in the playoff against the Cardinals. He had a few games where he threw over 400 and lost in the regular season. Fouts did also. Of course, Chuck Howley is the most famous example. There are probably some 60-minute guys who had exceptional games on offense and de...

Re: Two Way Players in the 1960's

Night Train Lane! Holds the Cardinals all-time longest TD reception record.

Also, Bill Butler (Packers, Cowboys, Steelers, Vikings) played both DB and HB in the 60s.
