The Carnegie Wonder Eleven was probably the 1926 team that handed Notre Dame their only defeat that year, one of the biggest upsets in football history according to ESPN. My f...

Buffalo

Just read the thread about the next PFRA meeting in Buffalo. There have been some great vintage Buffalo football items for sale recently on eBay and I did buy one program of particular interest to me along with a promotional flyer https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.websitetoolbox.com/1237/3222051 https:...

I'm about half way through the book - the reviewer took liberties the author does not take - I'm enjoying it -

Undefeated Jim Thorpe and the Carlisle Indian Football Team

A new book by Steve Sheinkin "Undefeated Jim Thorpe and the Carlisle Indian School Football Team" was reviewed by Carvell Wallace in the New York Times Book Review January 15. I'm curious what others think of the assertions implicit in the opening paragraph: Few of today’s football fans kn...

Re: Coffin Corner Volume 38 Number 6

Congratulations to Lee Elder on a great research article on the Goodyear Silents - really interesting and well written. Professional football does not equal the NFL and the article reminds that there are a lot of stories still to be discovered and told. Thanks!
