Re: Obscure RB trivia

If 2) is USFL, I'm really interested to hear who. I'm almost positive Maurice Carthon had 1,000 yards in the USFL, but he was a blocking FB in the NFL. I think there was a CC article about how many games he played in one year, but I don't recall the details. Herschel Walker would be a plausible gue...

Re: Obscure RB trivia

Not Kelly. 1968 was only his third year as a starter. And I did think of Daniels, who I believe had crossed 5,000 yards by 1968, but he wasn't in the NFL, so I assume he doesn't qualify either. Clem Daniels was in the NFL in the 1968 season, playing for the Niners. He also had 5000+ career rushing ...

Re: Obscure RB trivia

Bob Gill wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 12:18 pm For the first question, Don Perkins is one, and I think Dick Bass is another -- although he crossed 5,000 yards during the season, so maybe you don't want to count him.
I am counting Bass because he had 5000 career rushing yards in the 1968 season. So its Perkins, Bass and...

Obscure RB trivia

1) In the 1968 NFL season, there were only 3 RBs who had over 5000 career rushing yards at the time. Name the three.

2) This RB ran for over 1000 yards in two different pro football league seasons in the same calendar year. Name him.

Re: PFHOF myth

I haven't been to the PFHOF in a long time, but they used to have painted murals of each HOF member next to their bust. I would guess that is where there would be some type of "team" identification. I don't know if having all the busts wearing helmets would be practical, as they would all ...

Re: Negro League stats

Although the NFL and some people in this forum pretend otherwise, the 1946-1995 Browns and Ravens are the same franchise. The 1999 to current Browns is a different franchise. That is reality. Wasn't giving the "new" Browns the old Browns' name/uniform/history a condition of Cleveland pony...

Re: Best, and worst, team this decade so far?

The team I wouldn't to have wanted to face in the postseason was Tom Brady's Bucs. The worst team IMO was Urban Meyer's Jags team. That was a total trainwreck. I will say that DJ Chark played for the three worst teams of the decade so far...2020 Jags. 2021 Jags, 2023 Panthers.

Re: Negro League stats

NFL stats are NFL stats. Then what about the (1960-69) AFL? AFL/NFL stats are NFL stats. But in all honesty, its all weird. I think the 1960 - 1964 AFL stats are kind of video gamish. So you get someone like George Blanda making the HOF. But...I've always thought it was weird that later in the 60's...

Re: Seniors

id like to know who wrote that headline saying that neither were worthy because i disagree with that author 100% in terms of jake scott not being worthy for the hall I write the headlines. I am the Dick Wolf of PFRA. It was admittedly an old headline, and I think now the HOF was been watered down, ...

Re: Negro League stats

I don’t see anyone in this discussion saying that Otto Graham’s AAFC statistics shouldn’t be considered alongside his NFL statistics, but lots of folks are saying Negro League statistics shouldn’t be considered alongside MLB (separate American and National leagues, BTW) statistics. I would have an ...
