Re: NFC title Cowboys @ Eagles Jan 11, 1981 Eagles won 20-7.

Had Atlanta held on and defeated Dallas, I don't think the Eagles win the NFC. Atlanta had the Eagles number having defeated the Eagles three consecutive times, including a 20-17 Falcons win in 1980 at the Vet. The NFC Championship would have been played in Atlanta and I can't envision the Eagles wi...

Re: Most stints with the same team

Jeremiah Trotter had three separate stints with the Eagles. 1998-2001, 2004-2006 and 2009

Re: Most Underrated Play By Play Announcer

PBP- Gary Bender, Verne Lundquist, Mike Patrick and Tim Ryan. Loved Charlie Jones. Tremendous PBP man, yet never seemed to take himself so seriously. Color- I know a lot of people didn't like him, but I thought Joe Theismann was an excellent color man. He and Mike Patrick had great chemistry. Wayne ...

Re: Role Players With A SB Ring That People Felt Good For

Nice to see Ken Dilger the former Colt and Keenan McCardell get rings for the 2002/03 champion Bucs, though McCardell was more than just a role player, joining his 3rd career team at that point. McCardell was drafted by Washington in 1991 and was on injured reserve the whole season. I believe he co...

Re: Eagles now 12-0 vs Jets! The beat goes on...

The Eagles went 0-11-1 in their first twelve meetings against the Bears. They also did not pick up a road victory in Chicago until 1999, compiling a 0-15 record. Since snapping that 15 game road losing streak, the Eagles have gone 7-2 in Chicago.

Re: JAX losing streak over!

What a disaster with Urban Meyer. Did not expect it to go this badly...it's amazing how some guys are just not cut out the least bit for the pros. Granted he could still turn it around and maybe he goes on to be a successful NFL coach...but I got a feeling he's already planning his exit from Jax I'...

Re: Doug Flutie’s controversial signing with Chicago

Bryan, Good thread ... The Bears 1986 season definitely ended in a thud against the Redskins in the playoffs ... Buddy Ryan had an ability to get the defense in a frenzy but Tobin didnt, though the defense had a good year. Jay Schroeder threw for a lot of yards in 1986, but he turned the ball over a...

Doug Flutie’s controversial signing with Chicago

Why was there so much controversy when Chicago signed Flutie in 1986? Why did his some of his teammates resent him before he even suited up? Or was this just a case of the Bears not wanting an outsider to join them?
