It was not his first NFL pass, but it was his first NFL TD pass. Came in his second appearance.

Pihos played some defense in the 40s, obviously, but 52 was his one season there in the 50s. The Steelers switched in 1953, during his seventh season. The Steelers actually switched to the T in 1952 under head coach Joe Bach, back for a second term with Pittsburgh. I've seen film of a few games from the Bears at the time and in them, Brumbaugh played T QB, but Molesworth took the snaps as tailback/halfback when Chicago lined up in the single wing.
