Re: Teams/divisions swap(s)

Why is it automatically assumed that Dallas will or should be in the NFC East? The Cowboys don't belong in the East any more than the Colts belonged in the West Division back in the sixties. I get sick of seeing the NFL cater to the Cowboys in everything. The Dallas Cowboys are not America's Team bu...

Re: Jimmy G gone after one season?

In the seventies it was the "Raiders Mystique ". Today it's the "Raiders Mistake".

Re: Next rule change

Here are my recommendations to increase scoring: Change the scoring system ... a touchdown worth 20 points, 5 points for the XP 10 points for a field goal 6 points for a safety. At least the scores will look higher. Adopt the CFL single rule. At least it will add a possible extra point or two to a g...

Re: Reflections on 2011 Super Bowl Giants 21 Patriots 17

Here's an interesting tidbit involving Super Bowl X and Super Bowl XLVI: The final score of each game was 21-17. The winning teams scored their twenty-one points in the same unconventional manner: one safety, one touchdown with extra point, one touchdown with missed extra point, and two field goals.

Re: Steelers were 1-4 in 1976-Wound Up in AFC Title Game

For the Steelers 1976 was the year of the Brown's Turkey Jones planting Terry Bradshaw's head into the Cleveland turf. I attended the week 6 Bengals at Steelers game. The Steelers started the game slowly until a Cincy LB leveled a cheap shot at starting QB Mike Kruzcek. The Steelers Jack Lambert wen...

Re: Super Bowl 10

The story goes that the Steelers had several punts nearly blocked and Noll had doubts about aging punter Bobby Walden. Noll shunned the punt and challenged his great defense to win the game. I recall watching the game, stunned at his decision. Made a great game that much more compelling, though.

I'm pretty sure NFL stadiums were just about full that day.
I was referring to television. Didn't think to emphasize that.
