Re: Weird stats

Jeff Hayes - 7 rushes for 168 yards (24.1 avg.) and one TD (not bad for a punter).

Re: Opening Day Victory Streak

I've always wondered which team has the most straight losses on opening week. Anyone knows?

Re: Weird stats

Anthony Munoz - 7 catches for 18 yards and 4 TD's. I'm impressed by the 3 catches that were not TD's (one of them a 12-yard reception against the 49ers in 1987 when they lost in the last play due to poor clock management).

Re: Roster limits

IIRC in 1983 and/or 1984 they changed from 45 to 49 players, then returned to 45 by 1985 or so. Anyone remembers why?

Re: Balls scuffed before Super Bowl XXXVII

As a Cowboys fan, and having been to a number of games at AT&T Stadium, I have a few strange items: - A pair of slippers - A computer-mouse pad - A couple of luggage tags - A toothbrush and a pocket comb But in the team store at the stadium are a zillion other things. One thing that for me was o...

Re: Is there a Pro Bowl this year?

This year the Pro Bowl will be in Phoenix and with the captains format of the past year (no Conferences) and those ugly-colored uniforms. Only interesting thing is that the game will be at night, so maybe I'll catch a little.

Re: Cornell Green (Cowboy DB) Question

Carlton Haselrig was a Pro Bowler with the Steelers, and he also didn't played college football; he was a wrestler with Pitt-Johnstown.

Re: Balls scuffed before Super Bowl XXXVII

In this article by Peter King in 2013, it shows how the officials check the air presure of the footballs prior to the game. It's in the NFL Rule Book (Rule 2, Section 2). http://mmqb.si.com/2013/12/06/peter-king-week-with-officiating-crew-part-three/2/ I'm amazed that the officials, with all their c...

Re: Cornell Green (Cowboy DB) Question

Preston Pearson only played college basketball at Illinois, yet he played 14 seasons in the NFL and was the first player to play in the Super Bowl for three different teams. There are some players who didn't attended college and plyed for some years in the NFL (Otis Sistrunk, Ray Seals, Eric Swann, ...

Re: Duane Thomas fumble in SB V

30 years ago I recorded all NFL Films Super Bowl until then in my Beta recorder. I was amazed to see Manders knelt with the ball, but I recall in the highlights seeing Craig Morton and another player arguing to line judge Jack Fette (no. 39) who awarded the ball to the Colts immediatily after Duane ...
