Re: Teams that didn't play on MNF the entire season but "should" have

I remember that when the Raiders played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum they didn't had any MNF games there from 1986 to 1994 (the Raiders did had MNF games, but away). Was it for the bad artificial lights or the empty stands?

Re: Modern Candidates HOF Preliminary List

O'Neil wasn't in the preliminary ballot for 2024. Given that he played his last game in 1999, isn't he eligible for the Hall of Very Good? One needs to be out of football for 25 years. They are not eligible in their 25th year. This upcoming year (if I am not mistaken) will have players who last pla...

Re: Teams that didn't play on MNF the entire season but "should" have

1983 Patriots: had a winning record in 1982 and made the playoffs, yet some teams with losing records (Lions, Saints, Giants) played on MNF in 1983 and they didn’t. Of course the 1981 49ers and Bengals didn’t play on MNF, but they had losing records in 1980 and no one thought of them as Super Bowl c...

Re: Sabbatical concept in NFL

A true "sabbatical" is time off you intend to come back from at some point. Believing you are done playing and then being enticed back by financial reality or missing the game/teammates or having few other options is something different. Feels like most of the guys you mention fell into t...

Re: Dumb obscure player trivia

Player #5: I played in the NFL, as did my brother and now my son is playing. I was a tight end in my last year, and is also the position of my son. I also played defensive end, as did my brother. My daughter in law is the second best pal (as player wives) of a famous celebrity, who is dating a teamm...

Re: 1981 Falcons

The loss of Williams but the secondary was worse than before. On offense, Miller and Francis declined as well. The running game wasnt as good as the year before and Bartkowski threw more interceptions. Also the retirement of Rolland Lawrence did hurt them. Rookie Bobby Butler (while a good draft pi...
