Re: What happened to Pro Football Archives?
Thanks for the all kinds words about the Archives. I hope to make an announcement in the near future about what will happen to my data. It does NOT involve reviving the Archives web site. Yes, I was thinking that the data must still exist, so it can be turned into a book or some sort of database.

Re: 104th season, Week 16 preview
Denver looks horrible tonight. They can't even make a first down in the second half. Meanwhile, New England is moving the ball like a playoff team. On the other side, winning games, New England is screwing itself out of a top 5 pick. They have a very strong strength of victory that could very well ...

Re: "Hot Commodity" coordinat to HC failures
Saleh and DeMeco Ryans were the hot commodities coming from SF, but while Ryans is having an outstanding coaching season, which should get COTY ... Saleh is struggling. Both inherited talented young QBs but the Jets face more scrutiny and distractions than the Texans. How long before Saleh is back ...

Re: "Hot Commodity" coordinat to HC failures
My oldest son is a very successful engineer/project manager. He and I have discussed how head coaching failures may often be failures in project management of the sort he has often seen on the job. Someone who is very good at managing a smaller group may not do as well when put in charge of a larger...

Re: Most versatile touchdown scorer?
Johnny Blood told me the ideal backfield would be 4 Bill Dudleys. I don't know ... A team like that would have a very weak passing attack. Maybe three Dudleys and Sammy Baugh or Sid Luckman. Now THAT would be a backfield. Well, John also said that if he had to choose one player to build a team arou...

Re: Most versatile touchdown scorer?
Then I thought Dudley 1947, but missed the KO TD. Although he had a 78 yarder but nothing significant the next year After thinking about it I remembered that there was another league. That's where he is and he checks all the boxes. Speaking of Dudley as a versatile player, he's the best ever at fil...

I don't understand the fuss about it. I called Toney offside before the officials did.

Re: 2023 season, Week 11 review
The Lions suffered a tough loss yesterday but it will better help their team and season. This team doesnt need to win this division too easily anyway. The Packers and Vikings arent going to just roll over and the Packers showed they can get some momentum even if they cant make the playoffs. Now the...

John Madden
CBS seemed intent on sanctifying John Madden yesterday, which made me wonder: Did Madden ever say anything that improved anybody's knowledge or understanding of pro football? Frankly, I thought he was a buffoon as a commentator. He said "Boom" a lot and, when he wasn't saying "Boom,&q...
