Re: Wayne Walker

To his credit, Walker had 8 seasons with 100% XP conversions and a career 98.3% rate on extra points. Re: PFHOF myth

At a team reunion we have every year to watch the Super Bowl an old teammate brought his son and his son's friend, who played college ball and coached in a youth league. The young man was a "die hard, knowledgeable" Chargers fan... who had no idea who John Hadl or Lance Alworth were (and I...

Re: Giants/Rams history

I came away a huge fan of Henry Ellard as he was absolutely brilliant all game. He's a guy who still doesn't get the credit he deserves for a magnificent career. I agree about Ellard and just to remind, he is eligible for the HOVG for the first time this year (and he is pretty deserving). He led th...

Re: Negro League stats

You raise some valid points, Ryan.
And I am not arguing against them, per se.

I am all in favor of a more nuanced understanding of history.
I don't know that there's a truly satisfactory solution to this issue.

Re: Negro League stats

Crazy times we live in. Crazier than a time when the color of your skin determined whether you could play in the major leagues or not? Papa, don't preach. (IMO) It isn't "preaching" to bring up the inequities of the past. As a historical organization these are things that should be includ...

Re: Negro League stats

I think of the options available (inclusion, continued exclusion or a "Separate but Equal" category) the proper choice was made. It'd be great to see the NFL include AAFC stats as "official." It is really difficult to appreciate the totality of some folks careers without includin...
