Re: If Eli retires now (Canton?)

Cannot claim not to have a horse in the race but I've long questioned (Maxymuk can attest) whether Big Ben is an HOFer. But he is statistically better. QB Rate+ era adjusts passer rating to an index, Eli is 99, an average QB would be 100, literally over his career Eli's ~84 rating is below average....

Re: Peyton the Pure May Replace Tom Terrific

The fact that the Mannings smeared her in the 1996 biography means every time some uninformed individual picks up that book, her rep takes another unfounded hit. What is it about letting sleeping dogs lie? That's a good point. There's some disturbing things in that article, the least of which is th...

Re: Roving topic related to the slam dunk contest

The NBA isn't what it once was but it still has Greg Popovich, who probably deserves to be ranked in the top three active coaches of any professional sport. I'm sketchy on the details because I don't track NBA spreads but I believe Pop has one of the best ATS records out there, meaning his team cont...

Re: Roving topic related to the slam dunk contest

This will no doubt invite snickers, but the WNBA is great pro basketball. Really enjoy watching that league. Talented, hard working players who get paid peanuts. They really play for each other.

Sadly, women are so overlooked that most mainstream website apps do not even list WNBA scores.

Re: Again, Hall of Fame Snubs and Insults

Whitlock: Never been a fan of his either. The very big positive with him though is that he'll say things exactly as they are and a lot of times he'll be the only one to do it. I appreciate that, especially when 99.9% are going with the agenda and he says the truth. The negative is that he "nai...

Re: Again, Hall of Fame Snubs and Insults

"...who very much wish they were voters" ? Of who do you speak? This forum consists of a few members who spend 98 percent of their time posting HOF related dialogue - acting as though they actually have some say in the matter - and we're criticizing someone else for wishing they were a vo...

Re: Again, Hall of Fame Snubs and Insults

They also strike me as folks who very much wish they were voters, but given their apparent lack of knowledge and/or judgement, I think they would do poorly in this role. As Keith Jackson would say, "Whoa Nelly!" Possibly the funniest comment ever posted on this forum. "...who v...

Re: The HoF voting process

Oh, I get that. But there's risk in involved in projecting something that hasn't happened--and reward. You're right or you're wrong. Voting on what has already happened? Full of inherent biases, mostly statistical. I think you're combining multiple of your viewpoints (individually of which I agree ...
