Re: It's been a long time since I have been all that impressed with any one team in the NFL......but
I don't want to sound like an upset fan (which I admit I am) but I don't want to watch referees "play" for 3 hours. Whatever game they're playing today sure isn't the football I know. The "upset fan" of the past used to point to something ridiculous like: "if they would hav...

Q: "Why do you think you can fly?"
A: "Because I'm an Eagle." - Randall Cunningham
To stay with the same franchise, there's Jeff "Philadelphia" Feagles.

Re: More struggle-some, Belichick w Browns or he thus far post-Brady?
I feel like the narrative of "Art Modell announced the move and tanked Belichick's winning season" is overblown. It is overblown but not necessarily in that way. It's more the projecting out, where people start to phrase it as an absolute. As if it was a guarantee that the Browns were goi...

Re: Favorite football scenes in non football movies
The Best of Times (1986, Robin Williams, Kurt Russel) is a football movie but I'm giving it a mention because it is not well known/remembered. If you ever get the chance to see it I would highly recommend you do. Highlights ("favorite scenes") include a viewing of MNF and Kurt Russel... s...

Re: Favorite football scenes in non football movies
Depends whether or not you classify "The Last Boy Scout" as a "football movie" or not, but the opening was great. Had a whole "Friday Night Football" theme/intro and of course the game action in the rain. The theme/intro was funny because it showed clips from BYU-Texas ...

Re: USFL, XFL are merging
"When did the CFL last send a player to the NFL that became a star?". One could argue Doug Flutie (he of course was already famous nationwide as a college superstar, lackluster 1st stint in NFL, superstar in the CFL, and much more effective ("star-like") in his return to the NFL...

Re: Dumb Rule: Illegal Blindside Block
Opposite of your experience, I see this called frequently and 9/10 times it's laughable. Such as week 2 of preseason this year when "Illegal Blindside Block" was called on a Quarterback. Made me think of the scene in "Remember the Titans" when the coach is yelling for unnecessary...

Re: Was Roy Green a two-way player in 1981?
Gordie Lockbaum of Holy Cross, starred at RB and CB. Was drafted by the Steelers in the 9th round of the 1988 NFL Draft, but I believe he didn't play in the regular season. He did play a few games of Arena Football, though. I believe it wasn't until his Jr. year that he became a two-way player. So ...
