Re: A Signature Play in History for each team
Starr's sneak is the obvious #1 for the Packers. 2-10? - Brett Favre hitting Kittrick Taylor to complete a comeback win over Cincinnati in 1992, jump-starting the Wolf-Holmgren era - Max McGee's one-handed TD grab to score the first-ever Super Bowl touchdown - Desmond Howard's kickoff return in SB31...

Re: Most courageous performance by a QB?
It might not compare with the physical beating Favre often took (let's not forget him vomiting blood at midfield before leading the Packers over the Super Bowl-bound Steelers), but in terms of a QB literally getting up off the turf again and again, it's hard to discount Dave Krieg drilling Paul Skan...

Re: Do some running backs have a nose for the endzone?
It's a hard quality to define, but I think some guys definitely do/did. Lombardi used to marvel at the extra gear Paul Hornung would find when he was near the goal line.

Re: Worst...call...ever
Yeah, an obscure, hard-working, well-coached young man makes an incredible play in the game of his life. What a travesty.

Re: Balls scuffed before Super Bowl XXXVII
I'm amazed that the officials, with all their combined experience, didn't noticed that the balls were lighter, or worse, that no one (ex. the 3 alternate officials wo are at every playoff game) resguarded and/or checked the footballs. Even so, it's far more tightly regulated than it used to be. In ...

Re: 2015 Obituaries
No obit up yet, but a longtime Twin Cities sportswriter just Tweeted that former Viking, Ram and Redskin Tommy Mason has died. He heard via a phone call from Paul Flatley.

Re: Can the Packers actually win on Sunday?
A lot of folks are calling this the worst post-season loss in Packers history (which I can't argue) or possibly ever by any team (which is open to debate). But I was thinking -- If Sunday's parade of screw-ups and missed opportunities has a distant antecedent in Green Bay history, it might be the 19...

Re: Can the Packers actually win on Sunday?
There were a few interesting non-calls. Sweezy's personal foul could have been 15 more tacked on if the official had decided that it happened after the play was over. Lynch could have gotten 15 for grabbing his crotch after scoring (again). And replays showed that Seattle was offside on the play tha...

Re: Can the Packers actually win on Sunday?
Agreed, it was a terribly sloppy game with an amazing finish -- not unlike the 1958 title game and the Immaculate Reception game. Without taking anything away from Seattle -- which really did show a champion's mettle by getting off the mat the way they did -- I can't think of an instance when a team...

Re: NFLgames postponed or moved due to weather
Also, the Vikings' 10/5/69 home game against Green Bay was moved to Memorial Stadium at the University of Minnesota due to the Twins using the Met for their ALCS game against the Orioles.
