Re: '84 Broncos discussion
Fortunately for those two slow teams, Belichick could coach and had determined pass rushers in Taylor, Marshall and McGinest who helped make life easier for their offenses

Re: Worst draft classes for a team
Losing Reeves and Ditka from the coaching staff affected the team as well. Landry couldn't adjust to younger players like he once could. The Cowboys failed to coach up a touch thrower in Steve DeBerg as well. It's not like Brandt wasn't continuing to bring in talent while Schramm was trying to fleec...

Re: Lindy Infante offense - articles/description/etc.
You would think taking a team to an AFC Championship would keep the HC with the team but Marchibroda went to Baltimore instead. The Colts would draft Peyton Manning soon after. If only Marchibroda could have had more time for either team.

Re: Worst draft classes for a team
Good call 7D ... Did Carano keep Joe Montana from being drafted by Brandt? Montana was the highest rated player left on the Cowboy's board that day of the draft but three QBs on the roster meant Joe couldn't join their team and alter history. Back then, arm strength had more consideration over mobil...

Re: Worst draft classes for a team
Dutton gave the Cowboys some solid play but "didn't work wonders for Dallas", Robert. The Cowboys needed corners and linebackers in the worst way and should have addressed it with that first round pick. They also needed to draft offensive linemen in the 80s but didn't do a great job of tha...

Re: Giants/Rams history
I still thought the Giants were better. They were 8-1 when they had a letdown against the Rams earlier. The Rams had more speed but not as tough a team. Anderson ran well in the playoff game but with Bavaro out and the wideouts only catching four passes, the Giants offense couldn't score enough poin...

Re: Neal Anderson
Anderson actually did a good job of replacing Payton, especially helping out a typical Ditka offense in the passing game early but injuries took their toll by his seventh season. A somewhat, similar career to Roger Craig without the championships or receiving numbers. His touchdowns warrant a HOVG c...

Re: 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers item
I also believe the 75 Steelers were their best of the championship years. Bradshaw had a great year, beating the Vikings before taking the Steelers to back-to-back SB games as the Steelers were poised to beat a hot Dallas team in early 1976. Yes, the defense didn't stop the run as well but they were...
