Re: What is your personal "GOAT progression"?

I would put Shula over Brown Funny you should mention that. Don Shula is the only head coach in the P.F.H.o.F. whom I would NEVER have put there. The guy lost (at least) as many "big games" as he won - many were upsets that his team was expected to win, handily. And if you look at his car...

Re: Snow Games

If there's one snow game you have to watch, it happened in 2013 between the Lions and Eagles: The Blizzard Bowl. It's probably well-known around here, but it's generally forgotten and possibly my favorite football game ever.

Re: 0 - 17?

That overtime was rainy, sloppy perfection. A tie was the only way it could possibly end. It was beautiful. Take football back to this, please.

Re: What is your personal "GOAT progression"?

I like Friedman being on the list, but I don't think there was ever a point in time where that would have been a widely held view. I think he can only be included in hindsight which may partially explain why he's never in the conversation for much of anything like the 50, 75, or 100 year teams.  I ...

Re: What is your personal "GOAT progression"?

How did Jim Brown "revolutionize" the RB position? By redefining what it is capable of and the extent to which a RB1 could define a team. SVB existed, but his best season hardly matched Jim's worst. Youre right about Jim Brown for his time and even now but I believe Payton was dominant as...

What is your personal "GOAT progression"?

That is to say, who do you think has held the title of the NFL's "Greatest of All Time" at each point in the league's history, when did each player first state their claim to the title, and for how long did they hold it? Pretty simple. This is sure to trigger some interesting discussion ab...

Re: Mid-season observations

Ja'marr Chase has just about run away with OROY completely Thing is, fair or not, if Belichick’s Pats make playoffs - especially if they win division - and Mac maintains good enough numbers throughout, and here he took over on a losing team that no longer had Brady…looks like the voters will give h...

Re: Make a HOVG Case for any of these Players

I will admit that Hennigan is a personal taste that some share and many don't. I have a hankering for big black numbers. I'm not sure what the parenthetical remark about Marshall means To be more clear: he's the guy who's chiefly known for running the wrong way, and that's the first thing literally ...

Re: Make a HOVG Case for any of these Players

In terms of the receivers while I prefer Otis Taylor over the all decade picks I think Powell and Hennigan belong in the HOF if it's a yes or no question. Bigger problem for me is how many other HOF worthy WR's there are who didn't play their whole careers in the AFL. This seems to be the issue at ...
