Re: The Three Ring Circus known as the NFL Draft
I do miss the good old days where I’d wake up on Saturday, watch Rounds 1-3 all day, then do the same thing Sunday with Rounds 4-7. Football Christmas I’d call it. All homework was blown off until late Sunday night. Good times.

Re: Notable REGULAR SEASON Packers/Forty Niners games
The 49ers and Packers met on November 24, 1963, with the Pack winning 28-10. One of the retrospectives on that weekend noted that they played the National Anthem and immediately after it ended, Lombardi and Starr both looked at each other and had tears in their eyes. Two days after the JFK assassin...

Re: Notable REGULAR SEASON Packers/Forty Niners games
Most notable to me has to be their 1996 matchup on Monday Night Football. Robert Brooks was lost for the season with a torn ACL. Don Beebe came in and caught a 59 yard TD where he MAY have actually been down. Game goes to OT tied at 20 when Chris Jacke kicks a 53 yard FG to win the game. Made all th...

Re: Sorry, but they screwed the pooch
Here is a great article stating Verne Lewellen's case for the Hall of Fame: https://mavensports.io/nfl/talkoffame/state-your-case/state-your-case-is-verne-lewellen-the-most-deserving-packer-not-in-the-hall-jZrMGwvYpUeb511FsDOsAQ Not to be a homer but whether or not Lewellen made it in was kind of my...

Re: Rupert Patrick
Terrible, terrible, terrible news. Very floored and saddened right now. I'm new here, I've never had the pleasure of meeting Rupert, but he was very generous and kind to me. Since I've joined I've had all sorts of questions regarding the research he's done over the years, and via e-mail he always re...

Re: Who is your team?
Always wondered what the Colts fan was doing 1983-1996? Of course many just cut all ties with the franchise and then sort of went...dormant? Only to resurface again when the Browns moved. In the interim though, probably just migrated to the Redskins and remained there Or what Browns fans did after ...

Who is your team?
I read so many different responses and opinions on here, and the one thing I frequently end up asking myself is "I wonder what team he roots for?" Now I'm not necessarily asking who you currently root for. I want to know who YOUR team is. The era of your team that you fondly look back on. ...

Re: "Unbalanced" Teams
2011 Packers. Top scoring offense, MVP at quarterback. Dead-last ranked defense. That years Packers defense was surprising as wasn't the 2010 Packers D pretty good? They were! Dom Capers came aboard as defensive coordinator in 2009, and for those two seasons the defenses were pretty good. For some ...
