Re: "The Forgotten Four".....
Can someone give me some background on this show/documentary? I googled it and it says its from "Epix"? Did they mention the connection between Branch Rickey playing football with Charles Follis? I'm guessing they mentioned the Kenny Washington/Jackie Robinson college teammate connection. ...

Re: Historically black colleges
I came across this recently: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VM ... TF8&btkr=1. I'm not sure if it will help directly, but from the free sample available, it looks well written.

Re: Best team of the '40s (and PF that decade in-general)
I’m not sure how much this plays into who had the best team of the decade, but does anyone know when the unlimited substitution rule was put into effect? Comparing a team that basically went with 11 players with a team that was more specialized is a tough comparison and I think the 40s is the decade...

Re: Film about Football (1990s?)
I liked Friday Night Lights - I thought it hit on a lot of right notes - the relationship of the FB with his Father, an ending that wasn't a traditional hollywood victory, and my favorite scene was the final one where the coach was dropping the pieces with the player names of the graduating class to...

Re: Sneakers Game
Yeah, that was me. Are you sure the PFRA doesn't have any copies left? I'm not sure how many copies they printed, but I'd be kind of surprised if they sold them all. Thanks Bob - PFRA said "out of print", the door was left open for the future, but I wouldn't call the response encouraging ...

Re: Sneakers Game
Hi Bob,
Glad you got to see the footage. Not to go off topic, but would you happen to be the author of the book I'm looking for?: http://www.profootballresearchers.com/f ... 278#p10668

Re: Sneakers Game
Great collectable! Here's a link to some highlights from the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdXsV4veLWI. I know the Giants won, but I love seeing those 1st half Nagurski runs.

Re: Urban Legends: Beattie Feathers 1934 Rushing Stats
One thing I don't see mentioned much is that Feathers may not have been the NFL's first 1000 yard rusher. That may have been Tex Hamer for the Frankford Yellowjackets in 1924. 789 yards were verified, but figures from 12 of his 14 games are incomplete. He was 30-151 with a TD in his 2 complete games...
