Re: 2024 Hall of Very Good Nominations

The five people I am nominating for Hall of Very Good this year (never done this before, so let me know what you think): Wilber Marshall Dave Brown Al Baker Bob Baumhower and George Seifert A question I have about coaches: I notice that for Blanton Collier, his years as an assistant coach are liste...

IMO, the 1974 defense was the best. The 1978 offense the best. 1975 team the best.
Very well put, and I’d largely agree. 75 Steelers are one of the best teams in NFL history in my opinion.

Re: 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers item

I noticed Seahawks Fever nominated Dave Brown to the Hall of the Very Good and thought are the 1975 Steelers underrated? When you're placing players like Preston Pearson on waivers in September of 1975 and making a player like Dave Brown available in the 1976 expansion draft it seems they were so t...

Re: 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers item

From a Seahawks fan, the 1975 Steelers are underrated, or at the very least overlooked team in my opinion. I say the 75 team gets overlooked because the 76 and 78 teams also exist. 76 gets a lot of attention for being a bit of a “what-if” because they had injuries to Terry Bradshaw (as well as Franc...

Re: Michael Strahan- Did he only make the HOF because of his storybook ending?

IMHO, He was the Joe Namath of defensive players- only made the HOF because he played in NY, had one gaudy outlier of a season (Namath's 4000 yard season, Strahan's sack record) and had an all time SB upset. If they lose to DAL/GB or even that SB and he retires without a ring.... are we sure he's i...

Re: 2024 Hall of Very Good Nominations

Rashad was much better with Kramer than Tarkenton but Kramer also forced the ball to him, which resulted in interceptions. Rashad was somewhat similar to Chris Carter without the TDs of course. People wonder what he might have done had he stayed in St Louis for the Coryell era? Though a good career...

Re: Seniors

Many don't remember that Scott started his pro career with the CFL' BC Lions in 1969 as a wide receiver. And in his final NFL season in 1978 he had 7 interceptions while playing for Washington. I think Scott and Dick Anderson are HOF worthy, but it seems that they have been cancelling each other in...

Re: 1984 49ers = Overrated

When the NFC won 13 SB’s in a row, the conference was NOT truly deep and stacked Outside of the 85 Bears and 96 Packers- the 49ers and NFC East did most of the damage. You cannot tell me with a straight face that Minnesota/New Orleans of that era would have been a touchdown favorite in the SB. Ther...
