Re: 2023 Hall of Very Good Election Results
I also think the HOVG needs to be made sortable, the way the HOF is on PFR. By position, year inducted, etc.

Re: 2023 Hall of Very Good Election Results
Love to see this many votes! If only we could get that many people nominating. Surprised Walker and Tasker didn't make it on their first try; Christensen is less surprising since he's been trying for some time. I think he has a problem of low name recognition. Yes, there is definitely too big a back...

Re: Jimmy G, most fragile QB ever?
Don't think I've ever seen a team fire their GM, HC, OC, and QB, all in the same day, dead smack in the middle of the season before! This is going to be... something.

Bo Nix
When drafted, will he have the shortest name in NFL history? Or at least tied? Mo (Alie-)Cox could be construed as a tie.

Re: Gradishar, Art Powell, Steve McMichael Senior Committee Nomi
Ken, I reached out to the Hall in September to clarify the exclusion of Damon Allen from the preliminary list, since our guy Vinny nominated him specifically to test if he'd make it on. Here's what Rich told me: "If a person played pro football under the rules of the American game, then he wou...

Re: Since 1970 only 2 teams allowed fewer yards in 1st 5 games than Browns
I just don't think you can trust a defense to reliably dictate the pace of games in the modern NFL, period. No matter how good they are, they will have heavy ups and downs. The only counterexamples I've seen in the last decade are 2015 Denver and first half of 2019 New England. Meanwhile, there are ...

Re: Jimmy G, most fragile QB ever?
Of those mentioned, I think McMahon, Chandler, and Grossman were equal or maybe even stronger examples of this trope than Jimmy... at least he completed one season, and came close in another one. "Crystal Chandelier" is indeed one of the all-time nicknames. For McMahon though, his playstyl...

And then sure enough they go give up 38 points to Gardner Minshew.

Jimmy G, most fragile QB ever?
With the news that Garoppolo will miss time yet again with his newest annual injury, and sure enough, it's a completely different thing from all the others, I wonder if this has to be approaching some kind of historic level. I've never seen a player in my life who seems to get injured as often over ...
