I was going through the 1940s thru the 1960s looking at QBs who may be viable candidates for the HOVG. What do you think about the candidacy of each of these players? A few had careers that played into the '70s..

Parker Hall (1939 to 1942; 1946) - Cleveland Rams, San Francisco 49ers;

Babe Parilli (1952 to 1969) - Packers, Browns, Raiders, Patriots, Jets;

Tommy Thompson (1940 to 1942; 1945-1950) - Steelers & Eagles;

Eddie LaBaron (1952 to 1963) - Redskins & Cowboys;

Billy Wade (1954 to 1966) - LA Rams & Bears;

Milt Plum (1957 to 1969) - Browns, Lions, LA Rams, Giants;

Frank Ryan (1958 to 1970) - LA Rams, Browns, Redskins;

Don Meredith (1960 to 1968) - Cowboys;

Norm Snead (1961 to 1976) - Redskins, Eagles, Vikings, Giants, 49ers

I have nominated Thompson in the past. Frank Ryan is definitely worthy.

That's a great list, Matt!
Every one of those guys deserves serious consideration (imho). I might also add Craig Morton (though he lasted a little longer than most of these guys - playing into the 80's).

Of course, it always depends on who else is on the ballot but, under the right circumstances, I could see almost all of those listed eventually making our (the PFRA's) Hall.

And thank you for mentioning Parker Hall.
I really need to learn more about that guy...
