I would've gone Shocked or Harold Jackson over Harold Carmichael.

There are a lot of "our" recommendations in the player category (thanks for bolding those).
Is it possible the PFRA and its research/opinions are making an impression on the selectors?

Yeah, I definitely noticed that too. We've discussed this before, but Speedie is the one I only notice being a top snub here, but in fairness I don't pay as much attention to post-war.

I had read Neal Rozendahl's post a long time ago on pre-war snubs: http://nealrozendaal.com/2014/10/23/pre ... l-of-fame/ and he had it like this:

Should definitely be in: Duke Slater, LaVern Dilweg
Should probably be in: Verne Lewellen
Borderline: Swede Youngstrom, George Christensen/Ox Emerson

I did notice recently Chris Willis mentioning Lewellen in some recent posts at Pro Football Journal. He actually didn't make HOVG until around the 7th class.

Jimbo Covert is an oddity. Never got any play in normal or senior category.

Here, he leapfrogs Jacoby and Kenn and perhaps Kunz....

interesting. Not against him...like him a lot, but it's kind of a change.

Was he ever a Top 25 guy?

There's already grumbling in Cleveland about Modell being back on this list.

This is how I rank the "super seniors---Pre WWII guys"
These are, IMO, the essential 5

Al Wistert-- an homage to Bob Carroll
Ox Emerson--numbers impressive for good team...
LaVern Dilweg
Verne Lewellen
Duke Slater

Cecil Isbel---I don't think it'd be fair for a 3rd Packer
