Joe Ferguson was the Bills' starting QB from 1973-84 without a Pro Bowl appearance or All-Conference notice, the AFC had many star QBs during the period. Ferguson was a QB tapped to be great from his high school days, but didn't become a great QB.JeffreyMiller wrote:Fergy?
Yeah, he and Plunkett were certainly not as whelmingly mediocre as Flacco. The funny thing is, I can't tell any difference in overall performance between these two, who received absolutely no recognition, and other 70s guys guys like Stabler, Namath, Griese, and Bradshaw who made the HOF. On the other hand, when Fergy was hot, he was very good. Examples are the Monday Night game against the Raiders in 1974 and a duel (which he won) with Dan Marino in 1983.
