Any way there are enough materials out there to allow for someone to put together a book on this subject?

1985 would get tricky, but, yeah, since the first two seasons' worth all exist in the 1984 and 1985 Sporting News guides.

This should be possible. As mentioned, 1985 would be the tricky one, but most if not all the 1985 boxes appeared in individual issues of The Sporting News. Any stragglers could most likely be found in press releases, game programs or newspapers.
