McNabb over Hornung ... really?

McNabb was never MVP, never a first-team All-Pro, never played for a championship team, and will never be elected to the HOF.

I figured this would be one of the tough choices I'd get flak over. :) I do think McNabb is underrated. Certainly not a HOFer but easily HOVG. He gets the nod for me for overall team success (other than he did lay an egg in the Super Bowl), excellent TD/INT (even adjusted for era). I believe he had the first ever more than 30 TDs, less than 10 INTs season. I docked Hornung a bit for the suspension and horrendous FG%. He split ball carrying duties for a lot of his career. But of course that was by design because of the offense being run.

I do get what you're saying though.

Adrian Peterson would be a reasonable choice at 28.

Seven of your ten selections in the 80s were defensive players. Like I noted some days ago, I like numbers in the 80s worn by defensive players more than I like them on wide receivers. Numbers 80 through 89 look bigger and are larger than most other two-digit numbers. They should be on the tougher players- the players whose job it is to tackle ball carriers and sack quarterbacks and prevent scoring and stuff.
