I forgot all about Crow. I just looked at PFR---on 8 different occasions he threw 3 or more passes in a game. In a 1961 game vs. Washington he attempted 6 passes (completed 2, including a TD, and had a pick). To me that really is startling, just from the POV of trying to fool the defense. But you're right, the option pass has gone the way of the Green Bay power sweep.
