Bucko Kilroy

Post by RyanChristiansen »

Francis Joseph "Bucko" Kilroy played guard. Kilroy played 13 seasons (1943-1955) for the Philadelphia Eagles. He played on two NFL championship teams (1948, 1949 Eagles) and his best seasons were 1952-1954 when he was selected to the Pro Bowl three times. He was run-blocking on the line when Pro Football Hall of Fame halfback Steve Van Buren tore up the gridiron.
"Five seconds to go... A field goal could win it. Up in the air! Going deep! Tipped! Caught! Touchdown! The Vikings! They win it! Time has run out!" - Vikings 28, Browns 23, December 14, 1980, Metropolitan Stadium

Also had a noteworthy career in the scouting departments of at least the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.
