Former 49ers broadcaster (and father of Dan), Bob Fouts, died on Sunday at the age of 97. He died just four days after another Niners broadcaster, Don Klein:

Wayne Mass, former tackle with the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles died on July 4th, at the age of 73:

One indication that this is a small newspaper obit:

"In 1972, Michaels began a 10-year stretch as head coach of the Jets"--Never mind that he didn't start until 1977.

He did get screwed over by Weeb Ewbank and the Jets when Charlie Winner (Ewbank's son-in-law) got the HC job in 1974.

When Walt Michaels became the Jets head coach in 1977, it was written that he had been passed over for the job twice. First, for Charley Winner, and second for Lou Holtz in 1976.
