I always see these guys as the same, 1a or 1b of you will of the mid-1970s-mid-1980s
Seems Johnson always gets the nod in recent articles...Upchurch not so much

I always favored Upchurch myself but he didn't have an end zone dance, so Johnson gets all the "all-time" honors.

From a subjective standpoint, Johnson's returns were spectacular 'odysseys'. Upchurch was more of a 'find a crease and go' returner. Not sure if White Shoes was better than Upchurch, but Johnson was more exciting.
