Yes, essentially, the ‘2nd-best’ Seahawks squad ever. Two NFL runner-ups whom many, even non-fans, see as a “should’ve” won case for one reason or another. A great team ’14 was, but I don’t see them as a ‘lesser twin’ of the year before. A noticeable drop-off to me. Kind of like ’86 Bears compared to ’85; only ’14 Hawks, of course, at least made it back to the Bowl (and, damn it, were so close to winning it). They may be better than ’05. But that Holmgren-led squad was pretty great as well. I was worried a bit before SBXL; and had it been Colts/Hawks instead and Hawks win, it wouldn’t have surprised me at all. Russell I’d have to place ahead of Hasselbeck at QB, but a prime Shaun Alexander I can’t imagine being too far behind Beast Mode. A real stout D those ’05 Hawks had. Not at the level of ’13, but how far behind are they from the one-year-removed version? Perhaps a better run-D than ’14 (or maybe, maybe even ’13)? Holmgren vs Carroll?
