Re: Divisional Playoff Weekend
Love throw = 2009 Brett Favre I'm sure I might draw some ire for this comment. But I gotta point out that LaFleur basically put his QB in a position to fail there. On the int, I took a photo of the screen when they showed the wide-angle replay and they had two receivers running to the EXACT same sp...

Re: 1945 Championship
National Weather Service says 8 was the high in Cleveland on Dec 16, 1945, -3 was the low:

Re: Has there ever been a team like the Dallas Cowboys of the 21st century?
This game was sort of incredible. The Packers got some contributions from players who missed a lot of games this year. But Jayden Reed didn't even catch a pass. What an egg lay by the Cowboys. Perhaps unrivaled in playoff history. I tried to come up with a game that was this bad, by a home team. A ...

Re: Has there ever been a team like the Dallas Cowboys of the 21st century?
Probably more than we could count. The Cowboys get a lot more publicity and focus than most teams. I remember KC had a couple of 13-3 teams that lost immediately in the playoffs. And for quite a while, there was at least one team that got the bye week and came out flat, sometimes losing. There was t...

Re: 1945 Championship
Windchill factor was a brand new concept in 1945 and wasn't well known. There might be some recording of it or estimation on the National Weather Service site, but it likely wasn't considered when the game was played.

Re: The five "best" books about pro football history
I know it's a baseball book, but Lords of the Realm taught me more about how labor negotiations in the NFL work and how the CBA truly affects the game. Highly recommend. Even though it's about baseball, it's so good that it gives you a great perspective of football history as well. Great insight on ...

Re: "Protocol" for chain measurements
This is one area that I've always doubted that there's any way to get complete accuracy. The ball gets spotted - which itself is ambiguous much of the time. Then you have two people running onto the field with the chains - okay, is there really a way to make sure those markers are in the exact spot ...

Re: 2023 - 24 season first round playoff schedule
Wondering if there's a chance that the winner of TB/Phi would then have to play the following Saturday in the Divisional Round.
Also wondering when the London Playoff games will start.

Re: Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award
The most glaring omission to me is Harry Kalas. And John Facenda didn't make it until 2021. Facenda was the greatest voice in football. Huge fan of his like everybody else, but I also enjoyed Harry Kalas almost as much. He and Cosell not being in there is kind of ridiculous. Greg Gumbel is a good ch...
