Re: Packers Saints rivalry

I believe that the Saints are also the only NFC team that the Cowboys have not faced in the playoffs.

Re: Was Roy Green a two-way player in 1981?

All of the names we've mentioned were just moonlighting, though, besides arguably Bailey. How long has it been since someone was recruited on both sides and jumped straight into playing both ways, eventually leading to starting games on both sides and playing nearly every snap, like Hunter has? htt...

Re: Two dumb USFL tidbits

1) The Chicago Blitz in 1984 had Dennis Shaw as their backup QB. Shaw last played football in 1975. 2) Luther Bradley of the Blitz played two games against the Tampa Bay Bandits in 1983. In those two games, Bradley intercepted Bandit QBs 8 times. IIRC Dennis Shaw was the 3rd QB for the Chiefs in 19...

Do any of you know the name of the NFL official who wore #26 in 1969? Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Joe Zagorski

It was Ed Marion, a Head Linesman from 1960-1987. He worked three Super Bowls (V, IX and XI) and nine conference championships.

Re: Worst RBs/WRs with a 1000 yard season?

While I'm consider him a good player and he was a two-time Pro Bowler, I'm surprised than Sammy Winder never had a season of 4 ypc. Almost the same with James Wilder, who he was very good (especially in 1984-1985), but also had a low career ypc.

Re: Worst RBs/WRs with a 1000 yard season?

Thurman Thomas and Frank Gore had knee concerns coming out of college but their NFL careers werent bad ... I'm convinced that, usually, trying to predict injuries from previous injuries is like trying to predict the next spin of a slot machine from its previous spins. The exceptions are when a guy ...

The Bears James Allen. One random 1,100 yard season in 2000. His other 4 years in the league were nothing special
Another Bear I'm thinking of is Raymont Harris - 1,033 yards in 1997 with a 3.8 ypc, and 10 TDs; less than 1,500 yards with a 3.7 ypc and 6 TDs in another six seasons combined.

Another interesting Brown's trades while with the Bengals were WR Charlie Joiner for DE Coy Bacon, then dealing Bacon and CB Lemar Parrish to Washington two years later for their first round in 1979, who turned to be RB Charles Alexander, who is most famous for being tackled less than a yard for the...

Something I like by the name change is that they can still use their EE logo on their helmets.
