Today's playoff matchups are identical to 44 years ago on December 26, 1970. I wonder how many other playoff days featuring two games have duplicated each other in having the same two game lineups?

Well, it appears that Tom Coughlin is once again spared the axe in New York, at least for this year. I have the list of past coaches who were eventually fired by the teams they had previously won Super Bowls with at eight. Have I left anyone out? Hank Stram (Chiefs) Don McCafferty (Colts) Tom Landry...

I guess if Brian Tuohy were on this thread, he would insist that all of the forgoing examples were mandated by the mob in order to insure that the winning team covered the spread.

I'll have to check up on this, but I think it was on the last play of the game during the 1979 Seahawks-Raiders game that Jim Zorn threw a touchdown pass to Sherman Smith despite already being up by 20-10.
