Re: '68 Packers expectations
Was the Monday performance at Dallas one of Bart Starr's best ever? Cowboys come in 6-0 on the year (average margin of victory was 25 points in those first six wins), and get off to a 10-0 lead before Starr throws 4 TD passes in a 28-17 win. I'm guessing that game was a night game, but I assume it ...

Re: Worst ending to a career
Nick Lowery had a sad end with the 1996 1-15 Jets. His leg had lost a lot of strength that year as anything over 40 was a chore for him Also Art Monk as an afterthought on the 1995 Eagles George Seifert withering away on the 2001 Panthers Bruce Smith playing out the string as a 40 year old on a 5-11...

Re: Throwing the ball into the stands
Elway I believe did it in 1991. Threw the ball to a handicapped fan. Elway was later fined by the league for tossing the ball into the stands.

Re: '69 Lombardi vs Noll, Shula, Landry
In 1978 Walt Michaels squared off against Noll, Shula, and Landry and went 2-2. Beating Shula twice but losing to Noll and Landry Nice work! Not sure if this response is better suited for this thread or the 'best chance Jets winning Bowl in '80s' thread but what an irony in that Jets had a 7-0-1 re...

Reconciling the whole Browns/Ravens issue
I don't know if this still bugs anybody else, but for the life of me I never warmed up to linking the old Browns to the new Browns, and all of a sudden considering the Ravens an expansion team. The entire franchise, players, staff, trainers, office workers, scouts were uprooted to Baltimore. There i...

Kicking is just too easy
Nowadays it's almost a shock when any kicker misses from under 50. And I expect anything from 50-55 to go through 80% of the time. A lot of it has to do with improved field conditions, better stadium environments (no more Shea dirt or Soldier Field winds) and just kickers who are more fit and take m...
