Re: NFL's Most Influential Teams

Wouldn't it would very much depend on how one defined "influential?" I don't know that the 1968 Jets brought anything to the table that was new or "influenced" strategy or tactics. But by virtue of winning the Super Bowl they changed football history forever. That list (only the ...

Re: How will Belichick's final chapter be written?

If I were BB, I'd just ride off into the sunset, enjoy my millions, and grab a cushy multi-million-dollar job as a TV analyst. Life's short, and it sure as hell is a whole lot shorter when you're 72. Life is short but the NFL record for most wins is (probably) forever. BB is 27 wins away and for so...

You dog. I am SO gullible... No wonder I'd never heard that before... *Hangs head in shame* Now I'm trashing your trivia book because I don't know if I can trust the answers. Well, there might be a wrong answer in there somewhere, but if so, it's not intentional. I guess I needed to use one of thos...

Wouldn't a swathe of hundred dollar bills be more appropriate for todays quarterbacks?

Re: Modern Candidates HOF Preliminary List

Another question (I'm new here): At what point in the year would you say it would be appropriate to mention someone as a nominee for the Hall of Very Good class of 2024. I've thought of a few people who deserve a look. Welcome, Fever. It is always good to see a new face around here; it means intere...

Re: 1945 Championship

(And considering the game was won by a one point margin you have to consider that that decision may've cost Washington the Championship.) On top of that, a day before the game the Rams suggested moving the goal posts back to the end line. But the Redskins said it would be too much trouble, and besi...

Re: 1945 Championship

...The Redskins had sneakers but the Rams did not. The Redskins coach made an agreement with the Rams to not use theirs so the game would be played on equal terms... Can you imagine anyone doing that nowadays? Equal terms? Fairness? Saps. Losers... they'd be drummed out of the league. What a wonder...

Re: Has there ever been a team like the Dallas Cowboys of the 21st century?

The Packers aren't as talented as the Cowboys and they're not as talented as the 49ers either. But every now and again in sports you get teams that somehow get in the playoffs, they have nothing to lose, there aren't any expectations on them, and they go a lot further and play a lot better than any...
