Re: One man's list of non-HOFers
Very interesting list. I agree with a lot of it. One annoying thing is that I checked the all-pros of a few of the players he mentioned and he seems unfortunately to be going with the AP only. He also fails to contextualize stats for era as in the case of Charlie Sanders, who I think is a good Hall ...

Centennial Hall of Fame Class
A week has passed since the announcement and maybe everything that needs to be said has been said. But since the Hall of Fame is one of the most popular topics on this forum and maybe THE most popular, here’s two more cents. Excellent : Karras, Slater, Speedie Good But Could Have Been Better : Dillo...

Re: Bogus Hall of Famer from YOUR Team
I honestly don’t think there are any undeserving, or even borderline, Vikings in the Hall. For the longest time, the problem was getting deserving Vikings (Eller, Krause, Tingelhoff) into the Hall. Yes. Especially Eller. Regardless of what anybody says, I think his long wait was due to his drug pro...

Bogus Hall of Famer from YOUR Team
The discussion under the Slater and Speedie thread about whether there are too many players from certain teams in the Hall of Fame prompts this. Most people, whether they admit it are not, are partial to players from their team getting in the HOF. The flip side is that people generally think there a...

Re: Slater and Speedie
It was partly a joke and partly a reference to the Green Bay teams of the 1960s. I was not big on Nitschke or Hornung as Hall of Famers and was surprised about Dave Robinson a few years back because I was not big on him, either. None is a terrible choice but all are borderline at best, in my opinion...

Re: Slater and Speedie
How does Harold Carmichael get selected over Drew Pearson and Cliff Branch? Too many Cowboys and Raiders in the Hall already? I don't know much about Ed Sprinkle, other than his reputation, but is he a deserving selection? Very happy to see Alex Karras and Steve Sabol elected. As has been discussed...
